My projects cover examples in two of the largest lithium battery manufacturers. They also include two of the largest lithium battery equipment suppliers, to improve Battery models and equipment software intelligence, etc.

Projects Examples in Lithium Battery Manufacturing

Smart manufacturing system is designed and developed based on the very accurate process models, to achieve the optimized manufacture processes. Optimizations of large scales of parameters are also required.

I serve as a Consultant for a list of companies on lithium battery manufacturing. The work concerns with Defect warning, Industry Internet, application of the data in MES/Industry internet, new manufacturing process, stages of materials, and Battery manufacturing & Battery pack manufacturing, etc. It uses over 100 models in the processes. New IT technologies such as Big Data, Cloud computing, Machine Learning, etc. have been applying in the Smart manufacturing processes besides the general manufacturing.

(1) In measuring edge of cutting tool to dividing a cutting tool into one of five groups, nearly 400 photos were taken in a round cutting tool in X1000 times of microscopic vision. It was impossible to do the online measurement. Soft Sensing was thus employed in the project for B1. Designed and developed Defect Warning System during 3 work contracts in company B1. I optimized manufacturing process on Lithium battery processes, to reduce defects.

(2) Company G1 is one of the largest Lithium Battery manufacturers. The work concerns with the Process improvement based on MES data, and it also covers the process to optimize the MES that had not worked well.

(3) Companies G1 and W1 are both the Lithium battery equipment suppliers. Efforts were made to reduce defects through optimizations, to improve e.g. equipment software & AI.

(4) Company T2: Projects similar to company B1's. Lithium battery manufacturing modeling, burr defect detection, software architecture, etc. for both the Gigaplant in Reno, NV, and Research center in CA.

(5) Company B4 car company, a German brand, on consulting with car body manufacturing, and technologies to change of traditional car to electrical car. The change mainly is to replace oil-burning motor and mechanical transmission system, to a electrically driven motor, by supplying battery pack under the car.

(6) Company N1 Car Rental company, car quality and defect detection.
